After a hiatus of 13 years, Australian author Garry Disher revived Wyatt, star of a series of Parker pastiches, in his 2010 novel simply titled Wyatt.
It must have been a successful comeback, because Wyatt will be coming to the States in hardcover on August 9.
The earlier novels are available used through the usual places, but often at quite high prices. (I’m not sure if there were American printings or if the used copies are from overseas). If Wyatt does well enough, maybe we’ll get paperback reprints of the first six.
I hope to pick up Wyatt when it is released. I’ve only come across a handful of reviews, but they’ve all been positive, and I’ve been meaning to check out the Wyatt books for years and years. August is my chance!

I picked up the first book, Kickback, when I was in Australia last year. It definitely wears its Parker influences on its sleeve, but the writing is good enough that it doesn’t feel like a knock-off. I wish I’d bought more from the series. Since then I’ve managed to get a copy of Wyatt, too, and it’s also very good. I’m sure Parker fans will enjoy them, and I hope this move might make the whole series more easily available.
